By a resounding vote of 62 to 36 last week, the U.S. Senate has approved
an amendment, offered by Senator John Ensign of Nevada, to repeal the
D.C. gun ban.

Congratulations!

But the battle is not over.

This week, the House will take up the D.C. voting legislation. And
anti-gun Speaker Nancy Pelosi is angling to impose a "gag rule" on the
House, so that D.C. gets its unconstitutional representative, while
continuing its draconian anti-gun laws (like microstamping).

So here's the deal: The House will be asked to consider a "rule" which
establishes the time for debate and provides for which amendments may be
considered -- and which may not.

It is expected that the Pelosi rule will seek to deny the House any vote
on the D.C. gun ban and thereby strip the repeal of the ban from the
House bill.

So what we are asking you to do is to write and/or call your congressman
and demand that he oppose any rule that strips the D.C. gun ban repeal
from the D.C. voting bill.

Just to remind you of how draconian the D.C. gun law is:

* Following the Supreme Court's decision in Heller declaring the law to
be unconstitutional, D.C. made a few cosmetic changes which will, as a
practical matter, allow it to continue to deny its citizens the right to
keep and bear arms.

* Then, the City Council passed a whole series of new anti-gun measures.
These include a requirement that most guns used for self-defense
"microstamp" fired casings in two places with a "unique serial number."

Aside from being ineffectual with respect to stolen guns or crimes where
the brass has not been left behind, this microstamping provision is
intended to make guns so expensive that they won't be available anywhere
-- including your state.

ACTION: Write your Representative and urge him or her in the strongest
terms to oppose any rule which will strip the gun ban repeal from the
D.C. voting bill.

OBAMA LIED TO GUN OWNERS, SAYS CCRKBA; ATTACK PLAN REVEALED BY HOLDER

BELLEVUE, WA As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama deliberately and repeatedly lied to America's 90 million gun owners across the country when he insisted that he would not try to take away anyone's firearms, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, reacting to yesterday's remarks by Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder that the president will seek to reinstate the ban on semi-automatic firearms, said Obama knew he was lying to the nation because his own website touted his plan to revive the gun ban and make it permanent.

We warned America that Obama's support for the Second Amendment was empty rhetoric, he stated, and now Holder's disclosure has confirmed it. Obama was lying, and now gun rights may be dying.

Several times on the campaign trail, Obama told voters I'm not going to take your guns away. He said it at rallies in Duryea, Pennsylvania and in Boise, Idaho. He also told a news conference that Lawful gun owners have nothing to fear…I think people can take me at my word.

Right now, said Gottlieb, I wouldn t take Obama's word if he said it rains a lot in Seattle. Apparently, law-abiding gun owners have nothing to fear unless they own sport-utility rifles, semiautomatic shotguns, handguns and any other firearm that Obama and his anti-gun attorney general don t like.

Thanks to Eric Holder, who has been far more honest than his boss about his anti-gun philosophy, it is now clear that the new president doesn't support the Second Amendment at all, he observed. American gun owners should remind Democrats in Congress that the Second Amendment means what it says, especially when the president doesn't.

Product Review Danco replacement Cartridge

        About 4 months ago I purchased a Danco replacement 88675 Cartridge for a Moen "Posi-Temp" bathtub faucet.  After 9 years in the house the original Moen had started leaking and I had to replace it.  Home Depot had mostly Danco replacement cartridge and only had one Original Moen 1222 which was a bit over $10 more.  I was short on money and the Home Depot guy said the Danco's work fine.  4 months later (a month after the 90 day return window..)  the replacement started leaking and when I would turn it on rust would run out of it for a few minutes. This is supposed to be plastic and brass parts so there shouldn't be any thing in it to rust!


        Today I had to turn the water off after taking a shower this morning and it was almost running a stream of HOT water in the off position..  I went to Home Depot this evening which is just down the road from my house and purchased the Moen part.


        The difference between the two is the Moen part is manufactured in the US of imported parts, probably Canada and Mexico.  The Danco part is made in China..  They also make replacement knobs which is all Home Depot had and they suck as well, they don't fit on the shaft securely and have a lot of play.


        If you have some basic mechanical skills and tools it isn't that hard to change the cartridge.   They give you a tool to twist it out.  One difference is the Moen part came with a little capsule of lubricant to put on the O rings of the unit where the Danco part didn't.  I repair complex sewing machines for a living so a faucet isn't something I know a lot about but isn't something that's over my head to attempt.  I also have two associate degrees in Automotive and Diesel technology and Computer and Electronics from almost 20 years.
